5-12-09 James 1:2-4 (TNIV)

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything..."

Sometimes things suck and we can't see why, but God always has a bigger plan and purpose for our lives. The band and I am currently broken down and stranded in Texas on tour. I don't understand why, but God is still in control, and I still have a lot to learn. He is still teaching me, and molding my character, and I will be thankful.

3-4-09 Philippians 3:12-14 (NIV)

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me......Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead, I press on.........

The Christian walk isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. We can't spend our lives living in the mistakes of our past, but we must move forward to where God is leading us in the future. The only reason we can even go on is because of his unconditional love and forgiveness.

2-4-09 Romans 6:23 (Message)

Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death. But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our master.

-Without God we spend our lives working towards a terrible ending. If we sin then we deserve to die, and the Bible says that we've all sinned. Here is Jesus' response to our sin, offering us his free gift of life. Life spent with him forever, in Heaven.

1-4-09 Philippians 2:15 (NIV)

"...so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe."

If you have given your life to Jesus Christ, then He is calling you to make a difference through your life, and as a result He will use your life to reach other people. Ask God to purify you and to allow you to shine for Him.
