Dango began playing drums at age 12 and has had a very broad range of experiences and influences. He started gigging weekly in middle school by playing at his church, school band, and chapel services. In high school his first band tracked a full-length cd, which was the start of his recording experience. After high school Dango moved to Nashville, TN., where he graduated from Belmont University with a bachelor's degree in Commercial Music performance. He had the privilege of studying under Chester Thompson, Brian Fullen, Todd London, and Dr. Christopher Norton. Dango completely expanded his learning here as he studied jazz, Latin, funk, and rock. He was a part of groups performing at the Best of the Best Showcase at Belmont, two separate years and was a part of the first punk band to play at the Ryman Auditorium, as well as the first hip hop group to play there. During Dango's time in Nashville he toured four years with Worship leader Dave Hunt, as well as gigs with Andy Davis, Chris Rice, Taylor Sorenson, Phil Joel, Warren Barfield, and many more. He recorded regularly at various studios in Nashville doing demo work as well as playing on Sojourn Fare's self Titled EP, and recording an EP in Hollywood, CA for Three Word Name. After college, Dango moved to Seattle to join Amber Pacific, newly signed to Hopeless Records. He played on their debut album, The Possibility and the Promise, which has sold 75,000+ copies to date. He has played in all three of their music videos, which have gotten play on MTV, Fuse TV, MTV2, European MTV, and Much Music, Canada. Dango also played on their follow up LP, Truth in Sincerity, which has sold 60,000+ copies, and charted #62 on Billboard. Amber Pacific has played the Vans Warped Tour four times. Amber Pacific also had a song on the soundtrack and movie, TMNT, as well as multiple songs on MTV shows. He also teaches private lessons when he is not on tour as well as being a clinician. Dango plays in a worship band in Seattle called Floodgate Alive who recorded a live album and DVD recently.
